Working ninjas of Safer I team

Nirisha Manandhar

Campaign Lead

An AI engineer by profession and serving as the campaign lead for Safer-I, Nirisha is passionate about building machines that could someday take over her work and equally passionate in making them inclusive enough for rational decision-making. A recent Computer Engineering Graduate with 2 years plus professional experience in the tech industry, she finds herself not only developing solutions for real-world problems but also digging into concepts of ethics in tech and formulating practical processes to make technology accessible and just for all, regardless of their age, gender or forms of ability. From establishing the Safer-I Campaign back in 2020 with a small-scale data security workshop for internet enthusiasts, she now leads this diverse team towards the common goal of crafting a safe digital space for everyone. Currently, she is leading curriculum design for workshops on Accessible Tech, Internet Safety for Students and Digital Literacy for Adult Women alongside being involved in administrative work and grant proposals, and managing the workflow of the team. Intrigued by the power of storytelling while interacting with people, she also co-founded Katha.akar – Shaping Stories, an initiative to equip young women with digital storytelling skills to bring out unheard stories of different cultures across Nepal.  A people’s person by heart, she prefers a good balance of vicarious living and experiencing her interests first-hand.
