A wide range of sectors, including manufacturing, finance, retail, and health care, depend on software applications. For society, these applications raise many ethical issues such as privacy, monitoring, prejudice, and discrimination. In the August of 2022, the Safer-I team conducted its first ethical tech workshop for over 40 graduates and alumnus at the WLiT Fellowship 2021/22 program. The workshop focused on understanding AI and the ways it can be used and misused, understanding digital consent, and ethical issues surrounding the use of AI in content creation. We are looking to create a more intensive content library for our future ethical tech workshops.
