Mothers in Nepal are carving out their paths as they tackle the complex obstacles of modern parenthood. The older generation of women didn’t grow up with easy access to technology as of today. Tech for Moms is an initiative by Safer-I that aims to create digital awareness and literacy among older women. The session focused on a basic understanding of how the internet works, understanding Google and other digital accounts, safer social media practices, content and information filtering, and the use of digital wallets like Esewa. The first session was conducted in Ilam for 24 participants engaged with Mahila Jagran Sangh. The second session is planned for December 2022. Safer-I hopes to expand the program to more remote parts of Nepal and reach out to a bigger target audience in the future.
