The two days session was a resounding success, drawing 23 enthusiastic participants eager to enhance their journey through technology. Conducted in collaboration with the Orange Butterflies organisation, which is dedicated to empowering women with different skills.
The first day started off with a basic understanding of the Internet, the World Wide Web (WWW), Social media, Internet safety, and Password security, emphasising the importance of safeguarding personal information online. The enthusiasm and curiosity of the women learning captivated the environment, creating an engaging and dynamic atmosphere. Attendees then learned how to report, block and filter inappropriate content or users on social media platforms along with practical examples to ensure a safe online environment.
The second day progressed with familiarisation with digital wallets and their usage, learning how these tools can facilitate smoother and more secure financial transactions. Additionally, hands-on training was provided on using eSewa and Daraz, along with creating Facebook pages and uploading products in the marketplace to effectively showcase their offerings.
Finally, participants were introduced to digital marketing strategies and e-commerce fundamentals, equipping them with the tools and confidence to thrive in the ever-evolving digital landscape. Ultimately, “Tech for Moms” was more than just a session, it was an empowering journey, arming entrepreneurial mothers with the skills and mindset to succeed in business and technology. Sessions like these need to be conducted more often to empower more womens in the digital world.
